Transportation in Barcelona

Monday 18 July 2011

When you’re thinking about big cities, there’s always one problem that comes in my mind: about the transport and traffic jams? Well, if you’re going to Barcelona, you shouldn’t worry too much, as transport system there is complete and connects together both tourist attraction sites and short term rentals Barcelona, so you shouldn’t face any problems with that.
If you like independence and privacy
more, you should consider renting a car. In this way you don’t need to wait for public transport, search for bus and underground stations and travel across the city with people you don’t know and don’t like. However, renting a car means more expenses, more time spent in traffic and more responsibility, as well as if you’re planning to visit some parties and drink alcohol, you will have to take taxi afterwards anyway.
Cheaper way to get from one point to another is classical – by bus, city train or metro. The advantage of using metro is the speed. But if you travel by bus or city train you can see more and may be you will notice something of your interest, not included in any of the guide books, who knows? The single ticket for both means of public transport is 1,05 €, however if you are planning to use it a lot, it’s more reasonable to purchase an T10 card for 5,80 €, which includes 10 journeys inside of the city on any of three means of public transport available. However, this card is only valid in the city, if you need to get further, you might need zone 2 or even zone 3 cards. You might also consider buying T-Day card for 4,40 €, which includes unlimited number of journeys, but for 1 day only.
Anyway, even if your vacation rental in Barcelona is not situated just next to La Sagrada Familia, it’s not that expensive and difficult to get to any part of the city. When you have this information – all you need to do is just chose the right type of transport and card and enjoy your stay.
