Thursday, 7 July 2011

It is known that Gaudí is the best architect and artists in Spain. Nowadays his name is known world-widely.
Today, we will do a Gaudí route around Barcelona. Our starting point is the Sagrada Familia. This temple was first built by Francisco de Paula Villar, but it was Gaudí who finished the
architectonic project. However the monument wasn't finished when he died, so some Spanish architects finished it continuing with his planning. If you want to visit this impressive monument, the closest metro station is also called Sagrada Familia. Next to this station you can visit many typical buildings in the city called chaflanes. Also if you are planning your holidays to Barcelona, you can consider the option of booking vacation rental in Barcelona.
Also in the city center we can find the Palau Güell, this is the only monument Gaudí finished in his life. He had built it for the rich industrial family Güell. If you want to visit it, it is located in the district of La Rambla. In 1985 it was considered World Heritage by UNESCO.
As you can appreciate, all the buildings and monuments of this routes are in the city center, of course hotels in summer are very expensive, and they might be full, so try booking something different, like a short term rentals Barcelona.
Finally, you can`t leave the city without visiting the Park Güell. This park is located in a high hill. From here you can have the best views of the city. However if you are planning to go, consider that there are many steps, but just for the views it worth it.
Currently of the year, Barcelona is the perfect city to go around for a walk, and have a drink in one of its terraces, enjoy the summer in Barcelona.
