Antic Theater

Friday 15 July 2011

The art of theater comes from ancient Greece, but despite the word “ancient” there’s still place in lives of modern people not only for clubs and drinks, but also for some more cultural events and art.
The Antic Teatre, founded in 1879 by architect Joan Martorell and reopened in 2010 after room renovation and is considered to be a Spanish cultural heritage. The theater is home not only
for regular stage acting, but also for a number of other events, including movie nights at summer on an open terrace for instance. It is open every day of the year until 11p.m. and welcomes all the visitors, that feel the connection with art, no matter what it is – book lovers, poetry addicted or electro music fans.
If you’re going to Barcelona this weekend or during next week and already found vacation rental in Barcelona for these dates, you still have time to enjoy the performance of Piero Steiner and Enric Ase in their programmer called “Volare”, which means “fly” in translation from Spanish. In this performance the actors appear on the stage to show the tragicomedy of life. In a number of miniatures based on real life personal stories, they show their talent of making audience laugh even in cases that seem tragic at first. The only problem you might face during the performance is that it is set in Spanish, so if you don’t know this language, you might want to choose another show to attend.
Luckily there is a quite big amount of cheap flats Barcelona available, so you will have some spare money to buy tickets to shows and concerts. Just don’t forget the programmer first and check the language the performance is set in.
