Tips How to Prepare For a Holiday

Thursday 4 August 2011

Holidays may be not the best time of the year if you didn’t prepare for it properly. It seems, that there’s nothing much to prepare – book flights and accommodation and that’s it, but in reality there’s a lot of things to do. Firstly, you need to do “investigation” about the city of your destination in order to not be disappointed after you came back home that you missed something very important. Secondly,
you need to check if the district of the city you are staying at is suitable for you. For instance if you are going to Barcelona, but want to sleep in a rental properly, better choose the part of the city far away from street festivals. And the last, but not the least is climate and time zone adaptation. In this order of words, I would suggest the vacation rental in Barcelona.
They say that you need at least 3 days to adapt to new environment. It means that you will spend 3 days of your holidays sleepy and with headaches and afterwards you will need to spend 3 more days to come back to work. But the problem is that we usually don’t have time for that, we have 1 free week and we go for vacation. That’s why it’s important to prepare in advance. For instance, if your destination is on the East, try waking up, going to sleep and having dinner earlier 3-5 days before departure. If you are going to West, do the opposite, if it is possible with your work schedule. On vacation don’t forget to start adapting back couple of days till the end; this will minimize your stress when you come back to work.
Other advices may include coming back from vacation at least 1-2 days before you need to start work and just to rest at home. First day at work will be hard enough, so don’t try to do all of it, but increase the intensity of work slowly, this will help to avoid stress, post-vacation depressions and work more productive.
