Walking Around Barcelona

Monday 12 September 2011

What is your way of experiencing the city when you first arrive there? Do you take a map and go for a walk? Do you take a sightseeing tour on a bus? Do you find some locals to show you around? When you visit Barcelona, one of the best possible ways is to take a sightseeing tour, because aside from the regular tours where tourists are brought throughout the city in a bus with monotonously speaking guide or
with headphones with an audio guide, you can also find here the tours with the stops at the most remarkable places and with visits of the museums, it depends what you are interested in more.
After having arrived to the city you can go to the bus tour at once, to see around and to mark some places you want to explore closer. Later on after having siesta at your vacation rental in Barcelona, you can continue with a walk around the center and in the evening some festival is a must. Why so? Because every week there is a festival or two dedicated to different events, saints, traditions or anything else.
If you are only staying two days, better wake up early to check out the beach, luckily lots of cheap apartments in Barcelona have good location with either good connection by public transport or just close to the center and the beach. If you have a longer stay, you might be interested in visiting some districts around the center, as this is the city, where not only old town part has good places to see. Don’t forget to have daily siesta and you will have enough energy for all the walks around the city you want.
