Outside of Barcelona Center

Thursday 8 September 2011

Being the top-searched country for travelers, Spain has a lot to offer. Sunny beaches of Mediterranean Sea, Madrid, full of history and museums, and Barcelona, one of the most visited cities of Europe. Being a desired destination for tourism, it has everything to offer – history, beaches and festivals.
One of the most difficult tasks for old cities with rich history is to keep its
historical identity and continue developing. The balance not always can be found, however Barcelona is a place where symbiosis between old and new is seen all around. For instance, southwest from Barcelona there is a city called L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, technically being a second-largest in Cataluña. However not having a big separation from Barcelona (so if you have your vacation rental in Barcelona, it is easy for you to visit it). This city is well-known for lots of modern buildings, one of which – Hotel Porta Fira – is a winner of 2010 Gold Emporis Skyscraper Award. Being 118 meters high and having 28 floors it is one of around 10 skyscrapers (58 m to 119 m) in this suburb of Barcelona, that is considered to be economically depressed. However for you, as a visitor, the economical situation is not important while there are nice things to see.
You don’t have to book a room in this hotel to enjoy its marvelous view, better find one of the cheap apartments in Barcelona and be able to move around number of other districts that are not less interesting than the historical center. However, it depends what you are most interested in.
