Culinary Route in Barcelona

Monday 27 June 2011

Barcelona is a complete city where you can sunbathe, go on a cultural route and of coarse a gastronomic route. In the summer season, Barcelona is the prefer place for holidays.
Today I will create a gourmet route in the old town of Barcelona and I will start from Granja Viader, where you can try their home-made products like cheese and and traditional deserts. The journey continue with my next stop - Mercado de la Boqueria. This is the oldest market in the city, where as a tourist you can have some freshly cut fruits from all species.
Tea time has come, so my next place is a chocolate shop called Chocolatería Fargas. This shop was founded in 1827 by the Fargas family. This
establishment preserves the old rock to grind chocolate.
There is not way if you don`t taste the chocolate and hot coffee or tea, but don't get full, because we have a plenty of other shops and places to visit.
Use your time in Barcelona to visit the typical shop called “colmado” this kind of establishments offers a great range of house made products, and the shop keeper usually has a very familiar treat with the clients, so you will feel like at home.
And if you want to feel 100% like at home, why don`t you take advantage from the vacation rental in Barcelona, and enjoy the city with some friends or family.
Let`s continue with the Barcelona trip where my next proposition to visit is called Casa Gispert. This is a traditional establishment where they used to cook nuts. The importance of wood stove is big, because this is the only way to cook those nuts. This shop is more than 150 years old.
We will finish our route with la Vinya del Senyor, a wine store with more than 250 different kind of wines, where users can try all kinds of wine.
So don’t doubt about it, short term rentals Barcelona can be the perfect shelter for an amazing culinary round.
